Preventing Family & Domestic Violence

The Rotary Club of Salisbury (SA) is committed to saying NO to Family and Domestic Violence. This is more than just a message—it’s a pledge to promote respectful relationships and create a safer, more supportive community for all. Family and domestic violence has lasting impacts on individuals, families, and communities. Standing up against it means advocating for respect, safety, and wellbeing. It shows that as a community, we believe everyone deserves to live free from fear and harm.

A Longstanding Partnership with Women’s Safety Services SA

Since September 2014, the Rotary Club of Salisbury (SA) has worked in partnership with Women’s Safety Services SA (formerly Northern Domestic Violence Service) to support women and families affected by family and domestic violence in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.

How We Support

  • 🛒 Collect and donate essential items, including non-perishable food and hygiene products

  • 💜 Provide financial support through yearly donations of supermarket vouchers and perishable goods, which directly assist victims in crisis

  • 🤝 Raise awareness and encourage community involvement in support of safety, dignity, and recovery

We warmly welcome donations of non-perishable food and toiletries during our Monday night club meetings.

Annual Walk for Respect

Since 2023, the Rotary Club of Salisbury (SA) has proudly stood with Rotary Club within District 9510 and walked for respect. By standing side by side with our community in solidarity, we continue our Advocacy against Family and Domestic Violence amplifying the voices of those affected by domestic violence.

Joining Forces with Rozsi’s Voice

The Rotary Club of Salisbury has proudly joined forces with Rozsi’s Voice—a powerful initiative dedicated to preventing and ending family and domestic violence in our community. Rozsi’s Voice was founded by the Rotary Club of Mawson Lakes, Zonta Club of Para District Area, and Soroptimist International Torrens. On 3 September, at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Mawson Lakes, our Co-President Rick Henke signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of this vital new collaboration.

Why This Matters

This partnership brings together the collective strengths, networks, and resources of multiple service organisations to:

  • Raise awareness

  • Provide support for individuals and families in need

  • Advocate for cultural and systemic change

  • Build safer, more respectful communities for everyone
